However, prior studies have largely examined digital literacy, spirituality, and teacher competence as separate domains, resulting in the absence of an integrated pedagogical framework that explains their interrelationships. This study aims to synthesize existing research on the transformation of IRE in the era of technological disruption and to develop the conceptual model of Islamic Digital-Spiritual Pedagogy (IDSP). A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) combined with meta-synthesis was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The literature search was performed through Google Scholar, covering articles published between 2018 and 2026, with inclusion limited to national journals accredited by the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) and indexed in Garba Rujukan Digital (GARUDA). Following the selection and quality appraisal process, 38 articles met the inclusion criteria for analysis. The meta-synthesis identified three overarching themes: the transformation of Generation Z characteristics, the reconstruction of teachers’ roles, and the development of the IDSP model. The findings indicate that transforming IRE requires the integration of digital religious literacy, spiritual internalization, and teachers' transformative agency. Based on these findings, this study proposes the IDSP model, which conceptualizes digital technology as part of a pedagogical ecosystem shaping students' religious knowledge, religious identity, and spiritual experiences. The proposed model provides a conceptual foundation for curriculum development, teacher professional development, and future empirical research on IRE in the digital era.
Jusman Jusman Rusmiaty Rusmiaty Copyright (c) 2026 The copyright of the received article shall be assigned to the Fakultas Agama Islam Universitas Islam Makassar (FAI UIM) as the publisher of the journal. At the same time, most digital entrepreneurship education initiatives continue to emphasize business competencies while giving limited attention to the ethical foundations needed to guide responsible digital engagement. This community engagement program was designed to enhance digital entrepreneurship literacy among high school students by integrating Islamic values into entrepreneurship education, enabling participants to transform digital trends into productive, creative, and ethically responsible business opportunities. The program was implemented at SMAN 18 Makassar and involved 45 eleventh-grade students. It adopted a participatory learning approach combined with experiential learning. Program activities included needs assessment, interactive lectures, group discussions, guided development of digital business ideas grounded in Islamic values, and evaluation through observation, reflective discussion, and questionnaires. The findings indicate substantial improvements across all measured dimensions of digital entrepreneurship literacy, including understanding of digital business opportunities, social media marketing, Islamic business ethics, the ability to identify entrepreneurial opportunities, and entrepreneurial motivation. The program also shifted participants' perspectives from passive and consumption-oriented engagement associated with FOMO toward a more productive use of digital media while strengthening their understanding of ethical business practices rooted in Islamic principles. This program contributes an integrated community engagement model that combines digital literacy, entrepreneurship education, and Islamic character formation, offering a practical framework for cultivating ethically grounded digital entrepreneurs among secondary school students.
Norhaedah K Ernawati Ernawati Suci Susilawaty Muchtar Ahmad Syidqi Ramadan Natasya Putri Copyright (c) 2026 The copyright of the received article shall be assigned to the Fakultas Agama Islam Universitas Islam Makassar (FAI UIM) as the publisher of the journal. This qualitative descriptive study addresses this gap by examining how Islamic guidance and counseling practices foster adolescents' moral character in Tallung Ura Village, Enrekang Regency. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving religious leaders, village officials, parents, and adolescents. The study aims to identify the guidance methods employed, examine the challenges faced by adolescents, and assess the effectiveness of the approaches implemented. The findings indicate that conventional collective approaches based on sermons have gradually been complemented by situational-personal interventions, including direct admonition, individual dialogue, and community-based social control, which appear to be more effective in addressing gadget addiction and peer pressure than one-way preaching alone. The study proposes a community-based Islamic counseling model that integrates religious, familial, and communal dimensions. The findings also highlight the importance of integrating confidential individual counseling services into village-level policies as a complement to traditional sermon-based approaches.
Ria Rezky Amir Ruslan Ruslan Amiruddin Z Nur Copyright (c) 2026 The copyright of the received article shall be assigned to the Fakultas Agama Islam Universitas Islam Makassar (FAI UIM) as the publisher of the journal. However, studies that systematically map hoaxes, hate speech, and privacy violations onto the five dimensions of maqāshid al-syarī‘ah within the context of Indonesia's moral boundary crisis remain limited. This qualitative library research aims to analyse this crisis by establishing an analytical bridge between international human rights standards and maqāshid al-syarī‘ah. The study employs qualitative content analysis of primary Islamic legal sources, international human rights instruments, and relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that freedom of expression is recognised as a right in both the human rights and Islamic legal perspectives, yet each establishes different normative boundaries. Human rights regard restrictions as exceptions to a fundamental right, whereas Islamic law considers moral responsibility an inherent component of that right through maqāshid al-syarī‘ah. Mapping various forms of social media misuse demonstrates that Indonesia's moral boundary crisis is multidimensional and affects nearly all fundamental objectives of Islamic law. This study offers an operational analytical framework that bridges human rights discourse and Islamic legal theory, while highlighting the importance of a maqāshid al-syarī‘ah-based approach to balancing freedom and responsibility in fostering ethical digital interaction.
Ayu Rahayu H Kurniati Kurniati Musyfikah Ilyas Copyright (c) 2026 The copyright of the received article shall be assigned to the Fakultas Agama Islam Universitas Islam Makassar (FAI UIM) as the publisher of the journal. However, existing studies on religious moderation and da'wah management have generally examined these issues separately, resulting in the absence of a conceptual model that explains how religious moderation is internalized within urban communities. This study aims to analyze the management practices of the Special Da’wah Committee (Komite Dakwah Khusus [KDK]) of the Indonesian Council of Ulama (Majelis Ulama Indonesia [MUI]) of South Sulawesi in internalizing religious moderation among urban communities in Makassar. The study employed a qualitative approach using an instrumental case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving 18 informants, including KDK administrators, da’i (Islamic preachers), community leaders, and KDK congregation members. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis through iterative processes of data reduction, coding, categorization, and theme development. The findings reveal that the internalization of religious moderation is achieved not merely through the transmission of formal religious doctrines but through da’wah governance that is relational, participatory, and adaptive to the dynamics of urban society. The study proposes the Urban Moderative Da’wah Management conceptual model, which comprises four interrelated dimensions: urban socio-religious mapping, community-based relational engagement, the framing of religious moderation narratives in digital spaces, and the negotiation of religious authority within pluralistic societies. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a da'wah management model that reconceptualizes moderate da'wah as a form of relational religious governance, thereby enriching the scholarship on da'wah management, religious moderation, and urban Islamic studies.
Maskur Yusuf Copyright (c) 2026 The copyright of the received article shall be assigned to the Fakultas Agama Islam Universitas Islam Makassar (FAI UIM) as the publisher of the journal.
